sch.lk Domain Management
Schoolnet now manages the top level domain (TLD) sch.lk. Your school can apply for an appropriate domain as well.

1. Formal Procedure
The request for second-level domain for your school can be made through the web based form . This request need to be followed by an official letter from the Principal of the School (typed in the School Letterhead). This letter must include the following information.
- The requested domain name with justification for the chosen name.
- Administrative and Technical Contact details (more details on this can be found on the web-based form).
This letter should be sent to:
Director,
Center for Information Technology Services,
University of Moratuwa,
Katubedda,
Moratuwa 10400.
Please write "sch.lk Domain Request" in the top left corner of the envelope.
Please note that domain name that you have chosen may not be available as the domain names are issued on a first come first serve basis. However we will try our best to ensure fairness to all schools.
2. Check the status of your domain application
You can now check the status of your sch.lk domain application.

Web Folder for your domain name is generally created as soon as you submit the online application form. How to publish your home page using web folder is given here .
3. Domain Management
Domain Management will be done completely by the Center for Information Technology Services (CITeS) at University of Moratuwa. Technical Administration of the SchoolNet Network Operation Center is done by CITeS.
The requested domain (if not already taken), will be assigned and relevant DNS entries will be made as soon as we receive the official letter from the principal of the School.
Every school which has applied for a domain name will be eligible for web space. More information on this will appear soon.
